About me

Abi began dancing at the age of 3 and has trained extensively in a variety of dance styles throughout her life. During her training, she successfully completed numerous ISTD and RAD examinations, competed in competitions and scholarship events, and performed in a variety of pantomimes.

After completing full-time dance training, Abi graduated with a BA (Hons) in Dance Performance, Teaching and Choreography, alongside a Diploma of Higher Education in Dance Performance, Teaching and Choreography. She also gained her ISTD Level 4 Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) in Ballet, Tap and Modern, allowing her to professionally teach these disciplines.

Abi is passionate about continuing her professional development and has achieved a range of additional qualifications.

 

With over 6 years of teaching experience, Abi has taught and mentored hundreds of dancers of all ages. Before opening Abigail Barlow Dance Academy, she taught at several dance schools across England and Scotland, including choreographing and teaching a routine for the British Grand Prix Dance Parade 2022.

In November 2023, Abi achieved her lifelong dream of opening Abigail Barlow Dance Academy. Since then, the school has continued to grow, providing high-quality dance training in a fun, welcoming and supportive environment where every student is encouraged to build confidence, develop their skills and achieve their full potential.

Abi is incredibly proud of everything ABDA has achieved so far and is excited to continue growing the school and inspiring the next generation of dancers.
