Our modern classes follow the ISTD syllabus and students can start modern from age 3 leading to examinations. The emphasis of technique and movement memory in modern lessons influences all other dance genres at the school and builds a solid foundation for training and adaptability. Classes require lots of strength and flexibility as it incorporates corner work, leaps, turns, kicks, and improvisation which is great for confidence building. It is compulsory for all modern pupils to also attend ballet classes at Abigail Barlow Dance Academy.
